8.What are the common truck suspension problems?

First, the spring is damaged or fatigued;  

The spring is one of the main components of the suspension system, responsible for supporting the weight of the vehicle and absorbing shock. Springs may break or lose their elasticity due to prolonged heavy loading, fatigue, corrosion, or manufacturing defects.

Second, the shock absorber (shock absorber) failure;

The function of the shock absorber is to control the rebound of the spring and reduce the body vibration. They can fail due to internal oil leaks, aging seals, or piston wear, causing the vehicle to bump more when driving on uneven surfaces.

Third, the control arm (A-type arm or trapezoidal arm) is damaged;

The control arm connects the wheel to the body frame to help maintain proper wheel positioning. They can bend or break due to impact, wear or rust, resulting in unstable driving.

Fourth, ball joint (ball) wear;

9.What is the main function of nox sensor?

NOx sensor is a key component in the vehicle emission control system, its main role is to detect the nitrogen oxide content in the engine exhaust, and the test results are fed back to the vehicle control system to achieve the monitoring and control of vehicle emissions. By using NOx sensors, automobile manufacturers can adjust engine operating parameters, reduce NOx emissions, and improve the environmental performance of vehicles.


10.What are the components of NOX  sensors?

The NOX sensor consists of a sensor probe and an electronic control unit, which are connected by a wire harness to measure the concentration of nitrogen oxides and oxygen in the tail gas. It can be used to achieve closed-loop control of nox in SCR systems for diesel engines, or in on-board diagnostics (OBD) for gasoline and diesel engines.


11. How to clean the  NOX sensor?

1. Disconnect the battery: Before starting, make sure to disconnect the vehicle's battery from the sensor to prevent accidental short circuits or damage.

2. Remove the sensor: Use a proper tool to remove the sensor.

3. Clean the sensor: Use mild soapy water and neutral detergent to clean the sensor.

4. Check the  sensor: Before installing the sensor, check it for any obvious damage, such as cracks or breakage.


12.What does a broken NOX sensor do to the car?

1. Reduced engine performance: Due to the inability to accurately measure the ratio of air to fuel, the engine may not function properly, resulting in reduced power, increased fuel consumption, and increased emissions.

2. Excessive emissions: The failure of nitrogen and oxygen sensors may lead to vehicle emissions of nitrogen oxides exceeding the standard, which will trigger penalties from the environmental protection department.

3. Driving performance is affected: the driver may feel that the acceleration is weak, the shift is not smooth and other driving problems.

4. Fault warning light on: The vehicle's fault warning light may light up due to the failure of the nitrogen and oxygen sensor, reminding the driver of the need to check and repair.

5. May lead to OBD (on-board diagnostic system) alarm: When there is a problem with the nitrogen and oxygen sensor, the OBD system may record a fault code and prompt the driver to overhaul.

6. Long-term failure to solve may lead to more serious problems: if the nitrogen oxygen sensor failure is not solved for a long time, it may lead to problems such as damage to the three-way catalytic converter and carbon accumulation of the engine, further affecting vehicle performance and life.


13. How to pull out the plug of NOX sensor?

A: Unplugging the nox sensor requires caution, as the wrong operation may damage the sensor or circuit. Here are the general steps:

1. Turn off the engine and ignition switch. Make sure the vehicle is stationary and disconnect all connected power cables.

2. Locate the location of the nitrogen and oxygen sensor at the bottom of the vehicle. Usually it is located on the exhaust pipe, near the catalytic converter.

3. If the sensor is secured by bolts, remove the bolts. If the sensor is soldered directly to the exhaust pipe, it may need to be removed with the appropriate tool.

4. Use a wrench or other appropriate tool to remove the bolt or clamp securing the sensor. If the sensor is secured by welding, it may be necessary to use a cutting tool to cut the wire from the sensor.

5. When the sensor is loose, gently remove it from the exhaust pipe. Do not break or damage the connection wire between the sensor and the exhaust pipe.

6. Once the sensor is removed, unplug it from the sensor. Before unplugging, make sure the sensor is completely detached from the connection site.

7. Be very careful when handling the sensor plug to avoid damaging its connector or internal wiring.

8. If you are not sure how to operate, it is best to seek professional help to avoid possible damage.


14. What is suspension? What is shock absorption?

Suspension system and shock absorber are two different concepts, suspension system is composed of the body and the tire between the spring and shock absorber, the main role is to support the body, improve the ride comfort. The shock absorber is installed on the suspension system in order to make the vibration of the frame and the body attenuate rapidly and improve the ride comfort and comfort of the car. Shock absorber is a vulnerable part of the car, which has a direct impact on the stability, safety factor and life of the vehicle.


15. What are the basic structures of air springs?

The air spring is composed of rubber air bag, upper cover plate, base, auxiliary air chamber, clamping ring and buffer block, etc. According to the different time-varying forms of the rubber air bag, the structure of the air spring is mainly divided into three types: membrane air spring, capsule air spring and mixed air spring.


16. How does a NOx sensor work?

A NOx sensor has two chambers, two pump cells and a heating element. In the first chamber (which resembles that of a broadband sensor), a pump flow is used to maintain the oxygen content in the exhaust gas at about 10ppm. The exhaust gas then flows from the first to the second chamber. In the second chamber, the so-called "NOx reaction" takes place. This means that in this chamber the nitrogen and oxygen are separated by using a catalytically active electrode.

The NOx sensor can only work when the temperature of the exhaust gases is high enough. At that moment there will be no more condensed water present and the measurement will not be affected by this. The measured signal is then sent from the NOx sensor control unit to the engine control unit.

Under normal circumstances, the common air spring can be divided into four types: capsule type, film type, compound type and oil and gas type.

1, bag type air spring

The bag air spring consists of a rubber air bag with curtain line and compressed air sealed in it, which can be divided into single section and multi-section, and a steel waist ring is designed between the section and the section, so that there is no radial expansion in the middle part, and in order to prevent the friction between the adjacent two sections, the upper and lower cover plate of the air bag is sealed.

2, membrane air spring

The airtight bag of the membrane air spring is composed of a rubber diaphragm and a metal pressing part. Compared with the sac air spring, the membrane air spring can support the weight of the body under lower air pressure, but also has stronger torsional resistance, the elastic characteristic curve is relatively ideal, and has stronger comfort and support under the same environment, the structural design is simpler, the adjustable height range is larger, and the service life is longer.

3,mpound air spring

In simple terms, the compound air spring is an air spring type between the sac type and the membrane type, which integrates the advantages of the above two air springs, but the manufacturing process is complex and the cost is relatively high.

4, oil-gas air spring

Oil and gas spring is a special case of air spring, it is the same as air spring, the use of inert gas as an elastic medium, but it is different from the general air spring, it uses hydraulic oil as a force transmission medium, through the hydraulic principle to control the strength of the spring, it not only has the advantages of variable air spring stiffness, low natural vibration frequency, light weight, etc. The load it can bear is also 10-20 times higher than the general air spring, so its size and weight can be greatly reduced under the same load requirements.  


18. What is the difference between air spring and ordinary spring?

Most companies do not understand this problem, and even some companies think that there is not much difference between the two, for cost considerations, some companies will choose ordinary springs, in fact, the advantages of air springs are very large, far from ordinary springs can be compared.

1. Better shock absorption effect

From the aspect of shock absorption analysis, the shock absorption effect of air spring is obviously better, far more than the shock absorption effect of ordinary spring, the current automobile shock absorption system and large mechanical equipment will use air type spring, especially some high-end cars, basically will use shock absorption spring, because consumers now have higher and higher requirements for product performance. If the shock absorption system of the car is not good, it is estimated that it is difficult to get consumer recognition.

2. Longer service life

Compared with the ordinary spring, the service life of the air spring will be longer, the ordinary spring will be damaged after a period of use, but the air spring basically will not have any problems for 2 years, if the quality of the air spring is better, and even can be used for 5 years. The current equipment production process is more and more complex, replacing the spring is not a simple thing, frequent replacement will only lead to a large increase in the workload of the enterprise, which is very unfavorable to the development of the enterprise.

There are many differences between air spring and ordinary spring, no matter from which aspect of analysis, air spring is far better than ordinary spring, cost-effective is also higher.


19.What is the most common failure of air suspension?

Air suspension system is one of the common suspension systems in modern cars, which regulates the suspension height and hardness of the vehicle by controlling the inflation and venting of the air spring. However, due to long-term use and the influence of the external environment, the air suspension system may have some common failure conditions.  

1. Air leakage problem

Air leakage is one of the most common problems with air suspension systems. Air leakage can occur in areas such as air springs, gas pipe connections, or air bag valves. When the system leaks, the suspension height of the vehicle will not be maintained, resulting in instability or excessive turbulence when the vehicle is driving.

2. The suspension height is unstable  

Unstable suspension height is another common problem that can be caused by faulty air pressure regulating valves, faulty sensors, or electrical problems. When the suspension height is unstable, the vehicle may be unbalanced before and after, and the suspension height is too high or too low.

3. The suspension noise problem

The suspension system may make noise during use, which may be caused by worn air springs, loose suspension components, or hydraulic valve failure. Suspension noise not only affects the driving experience, it can also signal a potential problem.


20. How to store and maintain air springs?

1. When storing the air spring, please store it in a low temperature and dark place with poor ventilation as much as possible, and avoid direct sunlight.

2. Please avoid oil and drugs on the air spring. If left alone after adhesion, it may reduce the durability due to the reduction of the physical properties of the rubber.

3. The wall thickness of the air spring is thin, about 5mm. Please take care to avoid chafing, etc.

4. The air spring is better preserved in the free state.  

5. Do not store in a place where the temperature is above 50 ° C.


21. What are the main structures of brake pads?

Generally speaking, brake pads are mainly composed of steel plates, adhesive insulation layers and friction blocks. According to the different materials, brake pads can be divided into a variety of types, including asbestos brake pads (has been basically eliminated), semi-metal brake pads, less metal brake pads, NAO formula brake pads, ceramic brake pads and NAO ceramic brake pads. Among them, ceramic brake pads have been widely used in recent years, and their performance is also recognized.  


22. What are brake pads?

Brake pads, also known as brake pads or brake pads, are widely used in steam cars, bicycles, railways and various industrial clamps, is an important part of a variety of vehicles equipped with drum brakes or disc brakes brake system, so that in exercise or in motion machinery or car brake disc touch the brake pads and slow down, and then make the wheels or machinery stop running to achieve the braking effect. 23. How to maintain brake pads?

1. Under normal driving conditions, the brake shoe needs to be checked every 5000 kilometers. The inspection should not only include the remaining thickness, but also check the wear state of the brake pads, and whether the degree of wear on both sides is consistent, and whether the brake pads are free to return. If an abnormal situation is found, it needs to be handled immediately.

2. Brake brake pads are composed of two parts: iron lining plate and friction material. Do not wait until the friction material part is worn away before replacing the shoe. For example, the front brake shoes of the Jetta car, the thickness of the new film is 14 mm, and the limit thickness of the replacement is 7 mm, including more than 3 mm of iron liner thickness and nearly 4 mm of friction material thickness.

3. Some vehicles have brake shoe alarm function, once the wear limit is reached, the instrument will alarm to replace the shoe. Even if it can be used for a period of time, it will reduce the braking effect and affect driving safety. Therefore, it is necessary to replace the brake pads in time.

4. When replacing, the brake pads provided by the original spare parts should be used, so that the braking effect between the brake pads and the brake disc is the best and the wear is minimal.

5. When replacing the brake pads, special tools must be used to push the brake pump back, and other crowbars cannot be used to press back hard, otherwise it may cause the brake caliper guide screw to bend, making the brake pads stuck.

6. After replacing the brake pads, you need to step on several brakes to eliminate the gap between the shoe and the brake disc and avoid the first brake failure.

7. After the replacement of the brake pads, it is necessary to run 200 kilometers to achieve the best braking effect. Therefore, during the newly replaced brake pads, it is necessary to drive carefully.


24. Brake pads do not return the common performance?

1. The brake feels hard and not smooth: this is the typical symptom of the brake pad not returning. When you step on the brake pedal, if you feel that the travel is short, hard and not smooth, then the brake pad may not return.

2. The braking effect decreases: if the brake pads do not return, the contact time between the brake pads and the brake disc will be reduced, resulting in a decrease in the braking effect.

3. Brake abnormal sound: if you hear a sharp metal friction sound when braking, then this is most likely due to the brake pads do not return. 


25. What are the possible causes and solutions for brake pads not to return?

1.Brake pads wear: brake pads will gradually wear out during long-term use, if excessive wear, it will lead to brake pads do not return.  

2. Brake pad material problem: If the material of the brake pad is not uniform, or contains impurities, it may also lead to the brake pad not returning.  

3. Brake system failure: various failures of the brake system, such as brake oil circuit obstruction, brake booster pump failure, etc., may cause the brake pads to not return.

26. How long is the service life of car brake pads?

Brake pads have no fixed service life. Under normal circumstances, the front brake pads are replaced within 30,000-50,000 kilometers, and the rear brake pads are replaced within 50,000-70,000 kilometers. The service life of brake pads is related to road conditions, driving habits and technology, and the driving area of the vehicle.

Urban brake pads wear more than the highway; Experienced drivers with rich driving skills, the wear of brake pads is larger than the new driver who often brakes, and the wear of brake pads in the plains is greater than that in the mountains. When driving 20,000 kilometers normally, check the thickness of the brake pads. If the wear exceeds 2/3, the brake pads need to be replaced.
